Little Author in the Big Woods: A Biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder by Yona Zeldis McDonough

Laura Ingalls Wilder was an auther of many children's books, but she did not like spelling. One of her famous quoters is, "The only stupid thing about words is the spelling of them." My favorite part of her biography, by Yonazeldis McDonough, was when Laura was courting Almanzo Wilder and then married him. Almanzo first showed interest in Laura when she was only 15! He was 10 years older than her. Almanzo drove her 12 miles each way every weekend for 8 weeks while she taught school during the week. Laura called Almanzo Manly and he called her Beth. If you like books about love and adventure, you should read this biography called, Little Auther in the Big Woods.
